Event Description
Arts on 817 presents Romance on the Range on February 11th!
Come join us for Romance on the Range, a great evening of western entertainment and a great date night! Southern Alberta’s Doc Mehl will entertain you with his "west-clectic" songwriting, a unique brand of contemporary western music and rhyming spoken word while Doris Daley, a heart-warming storyteller and one of the finest cowboy poets writing today, will charm you with her Saskatoon-sweet cowboy poetry!
Tickets are available at The Vault, thevaultonline.ca and www.smoreuc.com.
"In the realm of storytellers, poets, lyricists and humorists, Doris Daley and Doc Mehl assume the roles of Queen Bee and King Creole. Or perhaps Lucy and Desi. Or certainly Dale and Roy," says Jon Chandler, recording artist from Colorado. "They are, by degrees, hilarious, poignant, whip-smart and profound. Seeing them onstage and delighting in their stories, poems, and songs is a joyous experience." Wyoming poet and radio host Andy Nelson adds, "Their stories are important, inviting listeners to remember old friends, explore new places, and protect and preserve their own traditions. And bonus! As a happy by-product of being on a journey with them, I am always entertained."
Doris and Doc look forward to sharing tales of Romance on the Range (and beyond) at Arts on 817, Strathmore, on Feb. 11, 2023.
