Calgary Rural Primary Care Network (CRPCN)

Established in 2006, the Calgary Rural PCN is a group of family doctors, health care members, and Alberta Health Services (AHS) who work together to provide primary care throughout 15 core communities southeast and southwest of Calgary. For the Strathmore region our PCN team consists of health specialists like registered and licensed practical nurses, dietitian, family counsellor, client resource specialist, and an exercise specialist - all working together to ensure greater continuity of care for each patient. Between the one-on-one services they offer, and the free classes offered on nutrition, exercise, health, and mental wellness, we work with family doctors to ensure your best health outcomes.

The CRPCN helps people access the health services they need when they need them, by building ongoing relationships between patients, their family doctor, and the health care team. Plus, CRPCN knows their way around the health care system, and can help navigate your best path.

Strathmore Municipal Library

The Strathmore Municipal Library currently houses a collection of nearly 30,000 books, magazines, audiobooks, and movies. There are ten computers and free wireless Internet access. Our memberships in the Marigold Library System and The Regional Automation Consortium (TRAC) allow our library patrons to easily access the collections of over 150 libraries throughout Alberta, downloadable eBooks and audiobooks, and dozens of online databases. The library's participation in the RISE Project allows videoconferencing between over 70 libraries in southern Alberta and the ability to connect to people all over the globe. We also offer community room rentals, exam proctoring, and our free and varied programs engage all ages.

Wheatland Family and Community Support Services

Wheatland Family and Community Support Services (WFCSS) believes in:
- The enhancement and strengthening of families
- The development of strong, supportive community
- The development of life skills
- The importance of engaging volunteers
- The improvement of social conditions

We are a partnership between the Province of Alberta, Wheatland County, and the Villages of Standard, Rockyford and Hussar. Supporting locally driven preventive initiatives our goal is to enhance the well-being of individuals and families in our community. Programming engages our area residents who identify needs and gaps which allow us to offer resources applicable to each unique instance.

Through advocacy, education and instructive information, we proactively build Albertans. From helping with early childhood fairs through to providing assistance to seniors completing complicated paperwork for services, WFCSS welcomes the opportunity to make a difference.

Visit us in the Wheatland County Municipal Operations Center, 7 kilometers east of Strathmore on the TransCanada highway at range road 243. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 4:30.
