Arts on 817 is thrilled to launch Season 6! Arts on 817 will present 4 concerts this year with a new initiative, Opening Act. Opening Act will proceed every Arts on 817 concert beginning at 7 pm and will feature local upcoming talent both on stage and in the lobby. Seasons tickets are $120 for Adults and $40 for Students and are on sale at The Vault and at smoreuc.com.
Arts on 817's is very excited to present our first Opening Act, Danai Allan! Danai graduated from Strathmore High School in 2018 and is entering her fourth year in Rosebud School of the Arts' Music Mentorship Programme. She is happily spending her summer playing a Nun in Rosebud Theatres' production of The Sound of Music. Danai has had the opportunity to share original music in RSA student productions of Christmastide, Anatomy of Grey, and Almost Maine. You can find her music on Apple Music and Spotify @Danaii
Lizzy Hoyt, a popular and nationally recognized Celtic songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, will be performing in Strathmore for the third time! Lizzy won the TRADITIONAL SINGER OF THE YEAR Award at the 2023 Canadian Folk Music Awards for her album, The Parting Glass. Other awards and nominations include the QUEENS DIAMOND JUBILEE MEDAL, Canadian Folk Music Awards, Western Canadian Folk Music Awards, International Acoustic Music Awards and Independent Music Awards. In addition to five independent albums, Lizzy has released multiple music videos, and has given countless concert tours across Canada since transitioning to a full-time musician in 2009. Lizzy shares content regularly online through her social media platforms which have received hundreds of thousands of views @LizzyHoytMusic.
